TREASURER - CRAKEHALL UNDER FIVES
The Treasurer is a member of the Committee for Crakehall Under Fives and so is a trustee for the charity. This is therefore a voluntary position. The Committee usually meets once a month during term time.
The Treasurer's duties are:
1. writing cheques and recording payments (the Treasurer is one of two signatories on the charity's bank accounts) including those effected by direct debit
2. banking and recording receipts including direct transfers into the charity's bank account
3. preparing monthly bank reconciliations investigating and resolving any anomalies
4. preparing half termly invoices for parents and tracking settlement of these
5. preparing and presenting regular reports to the Committee on actual and forecast receipts and payments and financial position and providing financial advice as required
6. preparing the annual report and statement of receipts and payments and assets and liabilities for review by the independent examiner
7. completing the annual return for the Charity Commissioners and submitting this with the annual report, statement of receipts and payments and assets and liabilities and independent examiner's report
8. dealing with finance related correspondence as required.
Dealing with payments and receipts typically involves a brief meeting with Manager once aweek during term time followed by a trip to the charity's bank branch (in Bedale).
The payroll is prepared by the parent of a former pupil, who also deals with all PAYE returns and correspondence. The role of the Treasurer is limited to recording net pay and expense payments and paying any statutory deductions due to the Collector of Taxes at the Post Office in Bedale.
